Air India flights to North-Eastern Part of India

Air India, the national carrier, flies to almost all states of north-eastern India, providing the much needed connectivity to the strategically important part of the country. Agartala, the capital of Tripura, is connected to Kolkata with daily direct flights. AI 744 flies from Agartala at 11:20 am to reach Kolkata at 12:10 pm. Similarly, Kolkata to Agartala flight AI 743 operates at 9:50 am daily.

Flights from Aizawl, capital of Mizoram, take you to Imphal and Kolkata on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with 2 flights on these days. One of these, AI 711 flies at 1:40 pm to reach Imphal at 2:30 pm non-stop. But, the other flight reaches Kolkata after one stop and reaches destination at 4:40 pm. Yet another AI 713 flight operates non-stop on Aizawal-Kolkata route on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, starting at 3:20 pm and reaching destination at 4:35 pm.

Bagdogra to Delhi flights of AI 880 operate on all days of week at 2:10 pm and take about 2 hours 40 minutes to reach Delhi. Bagdogra to Kolkata flights are operated by flight no AI 722 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 3:40 pm to reach Kolkata at 4:50 pm.

Dibrugarh in Assam is connected to Dimapur and Kolkata. AI 705 connects Dibrugarh to Dimapur and Kolkata on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Return flight from Dimapur on AI 709 is on Wednesdays and Sundays. However, the AI 705 flight to Kolkata has a stopover. Another flight AI 709 provides direct connection from Dibrugarh to  Kolkata on Wednesdays and Sundays, starting at 1:10 pm and landing at 4:10 pm.

Besides having flight to Dibrugarh, Dimapur in Nagaland is also connected to Kolkata. AI 709 from Dimapur to Kolkata operates on Wednesdays and Sundays whereas AI 705 operates on same route on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Guwahati is another city in north-east which from where flights operate to Delhi, Imphal, Kolkata and Lilabari. AI 892 operates to Delhi on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays whereas AI 890 operates on all days of week. AI 889 flight to Imphal is also a daily non-stop service. 9I 740 flight to Kolkata makes use of ATR- 42 airplanes on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. However, there is direct daily service to Kolkata on A320 airplanes on AI 730. 9I 739 flights to Lilabari operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Flights from Imphal are operated to Aizawl, Delhi, Guwahati and Kolkata. The ones to Delhi and Guwahati are operated on all days of week on AI 890. The AI 713 flight to Kolkata is on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays whereas AI 711 ones are on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

Shillong in Meghalaya is connected to Kolkata using ATR-42 airplanes on all days of week except Fridays.

Flights from Silchar in Assam reach Kolkata and Tezpur. The ones to Kolkata are operated at two different times on alternate days of the week. Silchar to Tezpur flights are on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Tezpur is also connected to Kolkata on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays using ATR- 42 planes and with one stopover location.



Air India flights also operate from major Indian cities to north east. Delhi is connected to Bagdogra with daily flights, with Guwahati with one flight operating on daily basis and another one operating on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and to Imphal on all days of week.

Air India flights from Kolkata connect with Agartala on daily basis, with Aizawal on alternate days with one flight daily, to Bagodra on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, to Dibrugarh and Dimapur on alternate days of week excluding Monday and Friday, to Imphal on alternate days, to Lilabari on alternate days beginning Mondays, to Silchar on daily basis and to Tezpur on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Air India Flights to/from Island Territories

Air India also flies to Andaman Nicobar Islands in Bay of Bengal and Lakshdweep in Indian Ocean. Port Blair in Andaman and Nicobar and Agatti in Lakshdweep are the two cities reached by Air India flights from other parts of mainland India.

Flights from Bhubaneshwar operate to Port Blair on Thursdays and Sundays at 8:20 am on CRJ-700 airplanes and take about 2 hours to reach there.

Chennai to Port Blair flights operate daily, on all days of week at 5:10 am on A320 airplanes.

Delhi to Port Blair flights operate on Thursdays and Sundays at 5:50 am on CRJ-700 planes and on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:55 am on A320 planes. Thus, on Thursdays passengers have flights to Port BLair from Delhi on Air India

Kolkata Port Blair Flights are all days of week, at 5:50 am.

Visakhapatnam to Port Blair Flights of Air India are on Mondays and Thursdays at 9:55 am.

Return flights from Port Blair to Chennai and Kolkata are on daily basis, for all weekdays. The single Friday flight to Delhi is at 7:00 am, on Sundays is at 10:50 am and on Monday and Thursday is at 12:50 am. Port Blair to Visakhapatnam flights of AI are on Mondays and Thursdays.
Agatti to Bengaluru and Kochi flights are on all days of week except Sundays, at 11:45 am. These are on ATR-42 planes. Similarly the return flights to Agatti from Bengaluru and Kochi are also on all weekdays.
